If you are interested in computer programming, or a degree in Computer Science or MIS, then check out this new course being delivered by The TECH in the new school year!

Programming Fundamentals is a two-year program that offers training in the design, development, and testing of software applications using a variety of object-oriented programming languages in both client-side and server-side deployments.

First year students will learn essential programming concepts and apply those concepts by developing both web and desktop applications. First year students will get exposed to HTML and CSS for web application development, and Visual Basic .NET for desktop application development.

Second year students (coming 2018-2019) will get introduced to the concept of client-side programming using the JavaScript language. Additionally, second year students will learn the design and manipulation of relational database systems and learn how to create, manipulate, extract, and display data from existing databases using the Structured Query Language (SQL).

Students of the Programming Fundamentals program have the option to dual-enroll with Northwest Community College for a total of 4 college credit hours after successful completion of the full two years. For students that do not wish to dual-enroll will receive a total of 2 elective credits towards high school graduation requirements upon successful completion of the course.

For the 2017-2018 school year, we will only be offering the First Year class. Students will have the option to take this class 1-2 Period, 3-4 Period, or 6-7 Period.
