The deadline to apply for a Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation scholarship is April 1, according to Dolores Wooten, director of alumni affairs and development operations.

Endowed and Annual Foundation scholarships are available through the generosity of individuals, corporations and civic organizations who have established them.  Any full-time entering freshman or current full-time student can apply for these scholarships, which are awarded according to the criteria designated by those who established them.  Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours and maintain a specified grade point average, which range from 2.0-3.25, according to the criteria of the individual scholarships.  Students must submit a Foundation Scholarship Application, which are available from the Foundation office, the Recruiting office or online at www.northwestms.edu.  Students receiving a Pell Grant or other scholarships are still eligible if selected.

In addition to the application, students will need to get a letter of recommendation.  Instructions are outlined on the application forms.
