“Building tomorrow’s workforce. . . today!”

A Message from Mrs. Lowrey

It gives me great pleasure, as Director, to welcome you to the official Oxford-Lafayette School of Applied Technology (The TECH) website. This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become for parents, students, and visitors to the site, a valuable source of news and timely information. This website has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, as well as to provide you with updated school news, schedules and events. Our school has a very long tradition and our faculty/staff takes great pride in providing a safe and secure learning environment, while at the same time offering a wide array of exciting and challenging vocational programs.  In 1973, both Oxford School District and Lafayette County School District built our current vocational school to offer more courses to our students in these school districts.  The original name of the school was The Business and Industrial Complex, or B&I, as the students referred to it.  The name was changed to add the word school and technology.  We now are The Oxford-Lafayette School of Applied Technology or The TECH.  We offer seven elective courses for the local high school students.  They are as follows:   Agricultural and Power Machinery, Automotive Services Technology, Construction/Carpentry, Career Pathway Experience, Health Science, Manufacturing Fundamentals/Metal Fabrications and Teacher Academy.  Our entire faculty/staff is committed to establishing a school environment that allows our students to flourish and to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.  The TECH has an exceptional faculty/staff and student population.  We serve Oxford and Lafayette High School students.  Our website will be updated regularly so as to provide visitors to it with updated notices and bulletins and other news here at The TECH.

Marybeth Lowrey, Director
